the boarder around the piece of paper is a light green leaf embroidered along the side. against the black background the title reads in tiny lettering "10th biennial" and in larger letters "Wilderness Conference." along the bottom in smaller font reads "April 789 1967 San Francisco Hilton Hotel"," sponsored by the Sierra Club 1050 mills tower San Francisco." in the center of the paper is a picture of a muscular Native American with long dark hair with a feather in it. sitting atop a horse bareback he has his head and arms outstretched towards the sky giving an overall sad demeanor. the rocky terrain around him and the horse is barren land with a few pine trees covered in the fog that envelops most of the background.
This is an effective analysis of the photo as a visual. This style of writing will serve you well in the class. However, why not focus on describing the photo itself--painting a picture with words, so to speak.
